GRETA - Trailer

A sweet, naïve young woman trying to make it on her own in New York City, Frances (Chloë Grace Moretz) doesn’t think twice about returning the handbag she finds on the subway to its rightful owner. That owner is Greta (Isabelle Huppert), an eccentric French piano teacher with a love for classical music and an aching loneliness. Having recently lost her mother, Frances quickly grows closer to widowed Greta. The two become fast friends — but Greta’s maternal charms begin to dissolve and grow increasingly disturbing as Frances discovers that nothing in Greta’s life is what it seems in this suspense thriller from Academy Award-winning director Neil Jordan.
Episode 207 - Creed 2 In 2015 Ryan Coogler breathed new life into the long-running Rocky franchise with Creed so, naturally, we must have a sequel. Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, and Tessa Thompson are all back to give us more of the melodrama and pugilistic violence that we crave but this time they're guided by Steven Caple Jr., as Coogler chose to focus on a little independent film rather than return. MOVIES DISCUSSED THIS WEEK: The Salvation, BlacKkKlansman, Jeremiah Johnson, Gotti, Set it Up, Harold and Maude, Crazy Rich Asians, Creed 2

Interview with Josh Clark of STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW on THE END OF THE WORLD

Today my guest on the podcast is Josh Clark. You probably know him from Stuff You Should Know, but I had him on the show to discuss his latest project, The End of the World. On this new show, Josh discusses the existential risks humankind faces and assess how they may be coming in the form of the technology we’re beginning to develop today. He is joined by a number of experts across the podcast’s ten episodes, from astrobiologists to philosophers to economists and transhumanists. You can find his podcast wherever you found this, so make sure you give it a listen. It's a fascinating show that manages to bridge the gap between information we need to know and the information we want to know. And that's not nearly as easy as it sounds. The music in this episode is provided by Bensound. The next time you have a multi-media project that could use some royalty free music, check out bensound.com.  Big thanks to Josh for taking a half hour out of his day to chat with me. T

But slayers and alien beings under the command of the Beast oppose him at every turn. I'm not sure if this a new scan for the Mill Creek Retro Collection but man does this transfer look gorgeous. The rich color pallet of Peter S

TRUST MACHINE THE STORY OF BLOCKCHAIN review

2018 Directed By: Alex Winter The decentralization of currency is confounding to the layman, confrontational to the establishment, and a source of consolation for millions of daring investors. Director Alex Winter has developed a knack for exploring misunderstood elements of technology in several of his documentary films. In DOWNLOADED he made sense of Bit Torrent, in DEEP WEB he explored the often maligned non-indexed corners of the internet and in his latest film TRUST MACHINE THE STORY OF BLOCKCHAIN, he makes takes on the technology that enables cryptocurrency like Bitcoin. Is blockchain a scam? Or is it simply a way for nefarious individuals to purchase illegal goods and services on the internet? No and no. As Winter explains in his film blockchain is a brilliant way for digital information to be transferred but not copied. It is essentially an open source ledger that allows for two parties to conduct a transaction in a way that is verifiable and perminent. In other words,

6 Seasons and a Box Set - COMMUNITY Blu-Ray Review

Much like NEWS RADIO , ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT , and GET A LIFE , Dan Harmon's COMMUNITY was a trailblazing sitcom with a vocal fanbase. "Six seasons and a movie" became a rallying cry for the Browncoats of Greendale Community College. These dedicated viewers managed to keep COMMUNITY on the air for several years after rumors of cancellation began to surface. In fact, rumors of the show's demise began to circulate before the first season had even finished airing. After the second season  COMMUNITY  was regularly on critics "best of" and "underrated" lists but the show never crossed over as a mainstream hit. Not to throw shade, but when shows like BIG BANG THEORY are cultural mammoths it's no wonder quality stuff slips through the cracks. We as audience members demand lowest common denominator drivel, shying away from innovative and challenging entertainment. COMMUNITY was self-referential and meta before those were common tropes in telev
