THE SHIELD Complete Series Blu-ray Review

The 18 disc Blu-ray set Mill Creek has released for THE SHIELD marks their finest work to date. Everything from the quality of packaging to the number of extras makes this set a must own for any fan of the controversial series. THE SHIELD follows Detective Vic Mackey (Michael Chiklis - GOTHAM, FANTASTIC 4) and his corrupt cohorts who are tasked with ridding Los Angeles of its most violent criminals using any methods they deem necessary. From the first episode on, this crime drama was constantly calling into question its anti-heroes methods and taking an uncomfortable look at our criminal justice system. By creating complex characters on both sides of the law, show creator Shawn Ryan (S.W.A.T., TIMELESS, THE UNIT) dissolved the thin blue line over the course of his series 7 seasons. Full 4k HD restorations of each episode, along with dozens of hours of special features including deleted scenes, commentaries from the cast and crew, and tons of featurettes made it impossible for

THE DARK from Dark Sky Films Coming to DVD 1/15

THE DARK, the biggest hit of 2018 for Dark Sky Films, is now the horror DVD of the year. On the outskirts of a small town lies Devil's Den, a mysterious tract of woods where many have entered but no one has ever left. The local legend is that the spirit of a girl who was horrifically murdered there haunts - and hunts in - this dense forest, brutally slaying anyone who dares to step into her terrain. When a young man with a dark past crosses her path, a series of events are set in motion that may lead to redemption for two tragically tortured souls. Part gothic fairytale and part chilling horror, director Justin P. Lange's debut feature balances rich imagery with a brutal and bloody story of unlikely kindred spirits who must defend themselves against the villainous powers of the "normal" world. Starring rising actors Nadia Alexander (USA's The Sinner) and Toby Nichols (Netflix's Iron Fist), THE DARK has been called "an ingenious reworking of the zo

Episode 207 - Creed 2 In 2015 Ryan Coogler breathed new life into the long-running Rocky franchise with Creed so, naturally, we must have a sequel. Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, and Tessa Thompson are all back to give us more of the melodrama and pugilistic violence that we crave but this time they're guided by Steven Caple Jr., as Coogler chose to focus on a little independent film rather than return. MOVIES DISCUSSED THIS WEEK: The Salvation, BlacKkKlansman, Jeremiah Johnson, Gotti, Set it Up, Harold and Maude, Crazy Rich Asians, Creed 2

He is joined by a number of experts across the podcast’s ten episodes, from astrobiologists to philosophers to economists and transhumanists. You can find his podcast wherever you found this, so make sure you give it a listen. It's a fascinating show that manages to bridge the gap between information we need to know and the information we want to know. And that's not nearly as easy as it sounds. The music in this episode is provided by Bensound. The next time you have a multi-media project that could use some royalty free music, check out bensound.com.  Big thanks to Josh for taking a half hour out of his day to chat with me. T
