CLASS ACTION PARK to Premier at This Years Virtual FANTASIA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

During its 1980s and 1990s heyday, New Jersey’s Action Park was known as the world’s most dangerous amusement park. It was a lawless land, ruled by drunk teenage employees, with rides that ignored basic notions of physics, common sense, and safety. Stranger (and crazier) than fiction, CLASS ACTION PARK is the first-ever feature documentary to explore a place that has long since entered the realm of myth. Directed by Seth Porges and Chris Charles Scott III, the film peels away the trappings of nostalgia to reveal the shocking truth behind the park and its brilliant-but-mad founder - including a criminal conspiracy and cover-up that allowed a death trap to survive and thrive, even as its body count grew. The Fantasia International Film Festival will launch its 24th edition next month as an exciting virtual event composed of scheduled live screenings, program library, panels, and workshops, taking place from August 20th to September 2nd, 2020. The festival will be accessible across

Update from Mike Flanagan on His Latest Stephen King Adaptation REVIVAL

On a recent episode of KINGCAST Mike Flanagan announced the screenplay for his adaptation of King's REVIVAL is complete and "Steve loves it." He went on to say "so that's one less sleepless night behind me." Flanagan has knocked it out of the park with his two previous King adaptations. GERALD'S GAME a book considered widely to be un-adaptable and DOCTOR SLEEP, a film that managed to extend an olive branch between the film and novelization of THE SHINING. King has a legendary distaste for Kubrick's film. Neither of these are small accomplishments and speak to how well Flanagan's sensibilities align with Kings. Flanagan always manages to craft deeply human stories in the most horrific situations imaginable. The gut punch at the end of THE HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL has nothing to do with a ghost or jump scare, its the connection he draws between regret and mortality. I haven't cried like that since the finale of SIX FEET UNDER. And while

Interview with Sherri Crichton on THE ANDROMEDA EVOLUTION

Written by Daniel H. Wilson, The Andromeda Evolution picks up the story established by Michael Crichton in his beloved novel The Andromeda Strain. Set decades later as a team of scientists continue to watch and wait for the Andromeda Strain to reappear. They embark on a quest to reach the quarantine zone, enter the anomaly, and figure out how to stop the potentially apocalyptic threat before the Andromeda Evolution annihilates all life as we know it. I had the chance to speak with Sherri Crichton about The Andromeda Evolution and continuing her late husbands work. Sherri, thank you for taking time to do this. How are you holding up? Thanks so much for your interest!  We are doing fine and thinking of all the people who have not  been as fortunate.  It’s also been such an inspiring moment for big changes in our world and  society at large. It wouldn’t be too far of a stretch to say “The Andromeda Strain” has become prophetic in  recent months. How do you feel about conti

L'INNOCENTE Coming to Blu-ray for the Very First Time in North America on 7/14

Gabriele d'Annunzio's passionate novel is brought to life in the final masterpiece from acclaimed director Luchino Visconti. In late-nineteenth century Italy, Tullio (Giancarlo Giannini), an insatiable aristocrat, grows bored with his timid wife Giuliana (Laura Antonelli) and neglects her for his mistress, the wealthy widow Countess Teresa Raffo (Jennifer O'Neill). After learning that Giuliana is having a torrid affair of her own, he becomes tormented by her infidelity and descends into madness. Visconti directed L'INNOCENTE from a wheelchair, following two strokes and a broken leg. He remained as painstaking as ever, spending hours getting Antonelli's veil just so, and getting a bitingly effective performance from Jennifer O'Neill (Summer of '42) as the cast-off mistress. The screenplay was written by Visconti, Enrico Medioli and the legendary Suso Cecchi d'Amico, and masterfully edited by Ruggero Mastroianni, brother of Marcello, longtime Viscont
