The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival announces today the first wave of titles for their explosive 2022 edition, presented by Shudder, running October 13th to the 20th with screenings held at Nitehawk Cinema Williamsburg and Williamsburg Cinemas. Following last year’s return to theaters, BHFF is thrilled to present its most robust slate to date. Faces of Freedom will produce a signature Vietnam War event on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 11 AM to 8 PM at American Legion Post 34. The Welcome Home and Frets for Vets event is part of the veterans’ 75th anniversary. Post 34 will hold a prestigious welcome home celebration to honor its 315 Vietnam War veteran Post members. It is the largest event of the many created by Post 34 this year to honor whose who served in Vietnam in the name of freedom. The doors open at 11 AM when a large contingent of Legion Riders from Post 34 and area posts, pull into Post 34 in grand style to celebrate and Welcome Home Vietnam veterans. At 12 PM, Post 34 will feature a four-hour meal and two “Good Morning, Vietnam” shows, 1 PM and 3 PM, featuring an exciting nine-member band – The Tributaries – playing music from the 1950s through the mid-1975. White Sands is a light crime series about an undercover expert and a homicide detective who are secretly sent to a Danish seaside town to solve the killing of a young German man while pretending to be a married couple.  In order to solve the brutal murder of a young, German surfer, two police officers are secretly deployed to the tourist paradise of Hvide Sande on the Jutlandic west coast. No one in the town trusts the police, so they must come across as a happily married couple from the big city moving to the North Sea coast to start a new life. The two police officers are Dane Helene, an expert in undercover work, and Danish-German Thomas, a homicide detective from Hamburg. They quickly come to realize that being credible in the roles of husband and wife isn’t easy when you’re used to being alone. Australian paranormal horror Surrogate, starring Kestie Morassi (Wolf Creek) and Jane Badler (TV’s ‘V’), comes to digital platforms this September. Written by Beth King and David Willing, in his feature directorial debut, Surrogate tells of Natalie Paxton (Morassi), a single mother and nurse, who falls mysteriously ill and struggles to stop her family from being destroyed. Louise Siverson (Prisoner, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries), Taysha Furragia, Ellie Stewart, and Ellie Tevelis co-star in the unsettling spooker.
