Well, it's finally here.  Our 2nd Annual Pop Culture Case Study Awards.  As all podcasters seem to think that the Oscars get it wrong, EVERY SINGLE YEAR, I have gathered all of them here to make their own choices! Announced today on The Star Wars Show and StarWars.com, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” will be coming home on Digital HD on March 24th and Blu-ray on April 4th.  This news comes on the heels of the start of production announcement of the untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story.  “Rogue One” has established its place within the Star Wars universe and the hearts of moviegoers, becoming the seventh highest-grossing film of all time in the U.S. Arriving early on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on March 24, and on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, DVD and On-Demand on April 4, the release includes never-before-seen “Rogue One” bonus material that will take fans behind the scenes with the movie’s diverse, dynamic cast and inspired team of filmmakers. An intimate collection of stories reveals how the film came to life, as well as hidden Easter Eggs and film facts that audiences may have missed in the theater.

The adventure-filled past of the iconic scoundrel and everyone’s favorite Wookiee is going before cameras this month when principal photography on the untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story officially began February 20th at Pinewood Studios, London. The movie will explore the duo’s adventures before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, including their early encounters with that other card-playing rogue from a galaxy far, far away, Lando Calrissian.

Episode 146 We're opening up the doors to the great hall and inducting the inaugural member to the True Bromance Film Hall of Fame. In order to rectify the grotesque errors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, we have established our own version of awards that are sure to stand the test of time and serve as the categorical barometer for success in film. The inaugural member of the True Bromance Film Hall of Fame is none other than the great Gary Oldman, who has been ignored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for far too long.

Today my guest is Daniel Farrands. He is a producer and writer, known for Amityville: The Awakening (2017), The Haunting in Connecticut (2009) and Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995). We discuss those projects as well as his beyond comprehensive documentaries NEVER SLEEP AGAIN: THE ELM STREET LEGACY and CRYSTAL LAKE MEMORIES.

For new release THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS we found the easiest theme ever for this podcast  with  MORE films about girls with all the gifts in MATILDA (1996) and FROZEN (2013). Unfortunately what we did not find was a lot of films starring and marketed to young girls like in the mid-90s, so we discuss this with  Jessi Lauren   of   Search to Find You . Is FROZEN receiving credit for being one of the few films featuring a girl with all the gifts? And how come we have to mention the film CHUCK & BUCK every time we attempt to do a family friendly episode? All of these questions and more, such as "Why am I listening to this podcast?" will be answered on this episode.
