Episode 150 of War Machine vs. War Horse: Inside Out (Fantastic Voyage vs. Innerspace)

On this episode we celebrate our 150th episode by taking a journey within ourselves, which doesn't get particularly deep as we just end up watching FANTASTIC VOYAGE and INNERSPACE. Those silly but classic films are inspired by what looks to be a new classic from Pixar in INSIDE OUT.

Episode 95 of War Machine vs. War Horse: Red Army (Once Brothers vs. The Other Dream Team)

On this episode we look at documentaries about a country's ties to their respective sports teams with a 30 for 30 film ONCE BROTHERS, which is about an Olympic basketball team that is broken up once the nation breaks out into civil war. This is very similar in premise to the other documentary we will review (except much different in tone) with THE OTHER DREAM TEAM. Hopefully that's not too much sportsing for our film nerd listeners, because first, we have an interview with Gabe Polsky, director of the new film RED ARMY.

Episode 149 of War Machine vs. War Horse: Wild Tales (Tales from the Crypt vs. Creepshow)

On this episode we take a look at the theme of revenge, something we know quite a bit about if you look at some of the movies we've made the other watch for this very podcast. In this particular instance we will be joined by guest Web Bist from the movie podcast IT'S TERRIFIC, to watch anthology films filled with vengeance, such as the 1972 version of TALES FROM THE CRYPT going up against the George A. Romero/Stephen King collaboration in CREEPSHOW. This combination of vengeful short films has been inspired by the video release of the 2014 Academy Award Best Foreign Language Film nominee WILD TALES.

A look Zemeckis' The Walk

Twelve people have walked on the moon. Only one has ever, or will ever, walk in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers. Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), guided by his real-life mentor, Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley), is aided by an unlikely band of international recruits, who overcome long odds, betrayals, dissension and countless close calls to conceive and execute their mad plan. Robert Zemeckis, the master director of such marvels as Forrest Gump, Cast Away, Back to the Future, Polar Express and Flight, again uses cutting edge technology in the service of an emotional, character-driven story. With innovative photorealistic techniques and IMAX® 3D wizardry, The Walk is genuine big-screen cinema, a chance for moviegoers to viscerally experience the feeling of reaching the clouds. or you could watch this
