THE True Bromance Film Podcast - A Bad Moms Christmas

Episode 179 Amanda of the CinemaGeeks joins us this week to let our hair down, chug some adult beverages, and discuss one of our most anticipated sequels of the year. Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn had us clutching our sides last year and we're hoping that they can do it again with A Bad Moms Christmas. MOVIES DISCUSSED THIS WEEK: Lady Macbeth, The Wall, The Mountain Between Us, The D Train, Spielberg, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, The Florida Project, A Bad Moms Christmas

THE GRAND GESTURE: Forgetting Sarah Marshall

On this episode we take a trip to get over our previous episodes of love, longing, and heartache with  Alyssa  of the  Hindsight Movie Podcast . Unfortunately for her this podcast trip includes Jason Segal in the nude (usually crying), Mr. Segal having sex (while almost crying), and taking in the sights (while almost dying). Fortunately for you the listener, we don't do any of those things, and discuss the idea of a permanent vacation lifestyle, worst music associated with our own real life romances (Jared Leto tops the Dracula musical easily), and how Bill Hader is the perfect man (this mostly comes from Mike). Join us for our episode on FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL! Kaleidoscope Film Distribution (KFD)and XYZ Films announced today that Gravitas Ventures has acquired multiple territories, including the U.S., Australia and South Africa to Kyle Rideout’s Public Schooled. The comedy stars Judy Greer, Daniel Doheny, Siobhan Williams, and Russell Peters, and recently made its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Mark Grieco - A RIVER BELOW

Deep in the Amazon, the population of the indigenous pink river dolphin is dwindling. Docile and easy to catch, this near-mythical animal is being hunted to extinction and used as bait for scavenger fish. But two activists are each working tirelessly to raise awareness and protect the species. On the one hand a marine biologist and on the other a famous TV star, each has their own very different approach to their one common goal. As the battle to save the pink river dolphin intensifies, the effort to direct the public’s attention to the issue becomes increasingly difficult. When a scandal erupts, ethical questions are raised as murky as the waters of the Amazon River itself. What sacrifices are acceptable in the battle for this endangered animal and what are the grander social, economic and environmental issues involved? Mark Grieco’s (Marmato) surprising documentary digs into the ethics of activism in the modern media age. A RIVER BELOW opens in New York and Los Angeles on Nov

WAR MACHINE vs. WAR HORSE: The Big Sick (I Love You, Man vs. Away We Go)

And we're back. We wake up this podcast to discover that we are in love with Kumail Nanjiani in THE BIG SICK. Unfortunately Jairo of THE TRUE BROMANCE FILM PODCAST is also with us at his weepiest as he raves about this new film, while expressing some displeasure with our two older film selections on love stories on the external influences surrounding our onscreen couples. In AWAY WE GO Maya Rudolph and John Krasinski travel across country to find the perfect place and the perfect people to raise their unborn child with, while in I LOVE YOU, MAN Rashida Jones is happy with her upcoming marriage to Paul Rudd but has slight concerns about the groomsmen or lack thereof. We also get a bit meta as we talk about the outside influences of film discussion and how it impacts our own experiences with this medium, which leads to the creation of a brand new podcast: MARK AS PLAYED . AFM - First Image from DESTINATION WEDDING

As a child of the 80's, I am pretty excited for this one. Destination Wedding tells the story of two miserable and unpleasant wedding guests, both pariahs at this affair, who develop a mutual affection despite themselves.  But to act on those feelings would be to trust hope over experience, a foolish choice indeed. BLOOM is selling the international rights to the romantic comedy, which was produced by Sunshine Pictures' Gail Lyon, Elizabeth Dell, and Elevated's Cassian Elwes alongside The Fyzz Facility's Robert Jones and Wayne Marc Godfrey, who have fully financed the project.

Cameron Romero Announces an Homage to His Late Father George A. Romero

Late last night Cameron Romero announced a title change and unveiled the teaser poster for the "love letter" to his father the late George A. Romero on his Facebook page. I was on the fence about this project due to zombie fatigue. But that image above has me excited for the possibilities. Below is Cameron's post in its entirety. This may be the coolest announcement I've made... ever. The best part is that this is only PART 1! Since my dad passed away on July 16th, I've seen him honored by fans, members of the industry (some of whom truly loved, respected and looked up to him and some who are truly opportunists hoping to capitalize on his name). I've watched amazing filmmakers issue tributes, thanks and inspirational credits to my dad... I've watched millions of fans around the world grieve, celebrate, mourn, lament and iconize his name, reputation, body of work, etc... I've watched him receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (online, as I

Of the play, Charles Isherwood in his review in The New York Times wrote: “It’s one of those treasured nights in the theater – treasured nights anywhere, for that matter – that can leave you both breathless with exhilaration and, depending on your sensitivity to meditations on the bleak and beautiful mysteries of human experience, in a puddle of tears. Also in stitches, here and there.” First perfo

PROJECTING FILM: 78/52 (JFK meets Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy)

For our Halloween episode we look at new documentary 78/52 which is a deep dive into the shower sequence from Alfred Hitchcock's classic PSYCHO. Considering that your two hosts are thoroughly unsuitable to leading a deep dive on one of the greatest achievements in cinema, we feel more comfortable explaining our love for this new film by selecting two other movies: Oliver Stone's JFK, famous for its editing and perhaps infamous for its attention to historical accuracy, is paired off with the exhaustive documentary on the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET series NEVER SLEEP AGAIN: THE ELM STREET LEGACY. ALSO: We warn young film fans of the dangers of interacting with other cinema lovers online. Speaking of which... ORIGINAL REMAKE: Psycho 1960 and 1998

For our Halloween episode this year we celebrate... Mother's Day? The ultimate love letter to all the moms out there is Alfred Hitchcock's PSYCHO from 1960 and to prove that love we are doubling down by revisiting the not-so-loved Gus Vant Sant remake of PSYCHO from 1998. This newer version being an attempt at a shot for shot remake, we discuss the style, casting choices, and strangely how dated the newer film seems compared to the 1960 version. Stick around for our new casting choices for what we can assume will never be with a third version of this film... so this is exclusive to this very podcast. You're welcome!   Twitter / Instagram : @originalremake Email:  originalremakepod@gmail.com Hosts:  @Podstalgic  and  @warmachinehorse

THE GRAND GESTURE: The Lobster

Not only do we discuss which animal would we like to be if given the chance to fail so spectacularly at finding true love, but also how far we would go for love? Lose an eye? A hand to a toaster? Find out all this and many thing you do not want to know as our hosts Dave and Mike brave a dystopian world where Colin Farrell can not find a companion.   Facebook / Instagram / Twitter : @grandgesturepod Hosts: Dave  @pccasestudy  Mike  @warmachinehorse Email us your favorite romantic grand gestures in film at grandgesturepod@gmail.com
