A look at the upcoming Picturehouse release of GLORIA

Picturehouse has acquired all U.S. rights to GLORIA, the biopic based on the true story of Latin America’s most controversial pop-rock icon, Gloria Trevi, from Matthias Ehrenberg of RΓo Negro, and plans a first quarter 2015 release. Why Bother?

This is the time of year when most of us movie nuts/cinephiles/opinionated jerks start putting together best of lists. I love looking over other peoples lists for two reasons. 1. I'm always curious to see what films really resonated with individuals. 2. I miss tons of stuff every year and I'm always looking for that hidden gem that slipped past me. The other side of these lists that are in essence a celebration of film are the worst of lists. These lists do nothing to celebrate or elevate art in fact they only exist to take the piss out of it. What's the point? If you love film why would you take time to tear it down? I understand wanting to review films and not all those reviews will be positive but why revisit what was a negative experience? Why take the time to collect and rank all of your negative experiences with art? I'm not asking as a judgmental prick. I genuinely do not understand the purpose of those lists and furthermore what do the people who writ
