NEVER-ENDING STORY actress Tami Stronach returns to acting w/ Lauren Holly in ULTRA-LOW

30 years later, The Never-Ending Story’s Tami Stronach makes her much welcome return to the big screen. The actress, forever remembered for her role in Wolfgang Peterson’s 80’s classic, has signed to appear in writer-director Nicholas Gyeney’s Ultra-Low starring Lauren Holly. The film, a meta drama that takes an unfiltered look at the lives of an independent filmmaking team as they struggle to break down the doors of Hollywood, features most of it’s players as themselves. “The script is about how hard it is to make a movie--as someone who has produced a lot of dance and theater I really related to the script and Nicholas makes that pain funny”, Stronach, also known for her years in dance, says. “Also I thought it was amusing to reintroduce myself back into film by playing myself trying to get back into film.” Described as a cross between Clerks, Good Will Hunting, and Entourage, the film takes the audience into the tough world of independent filmmaking like no film has before

War Machine vs. War Horse: Tower (Elephant vs. Dark Night)

On this episode we try to respectfully discuss films focused on mass shootings. Because we are incapable of this, we bring on our resident political correspondent  Dwight Hurst  of  The Broken Brain  for new to video TOWER. This critically acclaimed film has us looking at two more controversial "day of" films in Gus Van Sant's ELEPHANT and Tim Sutton's DARK NIGHT. All three movies approach the subject matter with interesting stylistic choices though the subject matter remains a hard sale. And all three people on this podcast seem to recommend a different film. So in the end... no conclusions are made, as usual. Thanks for the download! SXSW review GAME OF DEATH

2017 Directed By: Laurence “Baz” Morais and Sebastien Landry Starring: Sam Earle, Victoria Diamond, and Emelia Hellman Originally designed as an episodic web series GAME OF DEATH is a film about a group of millennials playing a board game with fairly straight forward instructions, kill or be killed.  This isn't the first time a series has been re cut to transition from the small screen to the big. AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, THE TRIP, and (most famously) MUHOLLAND DRIVE all were originally shot as television projects. Considering I enjoyed all those films (its strange) for some reason I held GAME OF DEATH's digital roots against it. I'm glad I got over that prejudice and decided to screen the film because its one of the most surprising films of this years SXSW festival. A small group of young adults decide to play the titular GAME OF DEATH and soon find out the stakes are much higher than your average game of Monopoly or Twister. It's like a bo
