The first feature from German writer/director Tilman Singer LUZ is captivatingly shot on 16mm with immersive sound and visuals that call to mind the experimental images of Giallo and 70s Spanish horror atmosphere. Produced by Dario Méndez Acosta and Tilman Singer, with a brooding synth score composed by Simon Waskow, the film stars breakout actress Luana Velis as Luz, as well as Jan Bluthardt and Julia Riedler offering a strong supporting base. LUZ World Premiered at the Berlinale and screened at Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema and will play at famed Brazilian genre fest Fantaspoa before having its North American Premiere at Montreal's Fantasia International Film Festival this summer.

30WEST and FilmNation Entertainment announced today that Academy Award Nominee Amy Ryan (Birdman, Gone Baby Gone) has joined the cast of Mindy Kaling's Late Night, directed by Nisha Ganatra. The film also stars Kaling, Emma Thompson, John Lithgow, Hugh Dancy, Reid Scott, Paul Walter Hauser, Denis O’Hare, John Early, Max Casella and Megalyn Echikunwoke. 30WEST and FilmNation Entertainment are financing the upcoming comedy. Kaling wrote the script and is also producing with Howard Klein, alongside Imperative Entertainment and FilmNation Entertainment, who are also handling international sales. 30WEST and CAA are handling US rights. Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios has acquired the international rights to Midway, to be directed by iconic filmmaker Roland Emmerich (Independence Day franchise, The Day After Tomorrow) from a script by Wes Tooke, and will introduce the film to buyers at Cannes. Starlight Entertainment Group and Providence Entertainment Limited are financing Midway. U.S. and China theatrical distribution is already set with Lionsgate to release through its Summit Entertainment label stateside and Bona Film Group to release in Greater China. Creative Artists Agency (CAA) brokered the financing and distribution deals. Produced by Emmerich’s Centropolis Entertainment, Midway will be produced by Roland Emmerich, Harald Kloser (2012, White House Down, Independence Day: Resurgence), and Mark Gordon (Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot, Molly’s Game).
