Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is bringing the pranks into homes this April Fool’s Day with the early digital release of Impractical Jokers: The Movie on April 1, 2020, only five weeks after its theatrical run. The film, an extension of the hugely popular and long running Impractical Jokers series, was directed by Chris Henchy (Daddy’s Home, “Eastbound & Down”). A truTV original production, the companies first theatrical effort, was produced with Funny or Die. The Movie carries a suggested retail price of $19.99 for the Digital ($24.99 in Canada) and is rated PG-13.

Born into a show business family, Joey began his career as a performer in 1978 as a recording artist with Casablanca Records and starring in the feature film, Sunnyside (1979). Joey has directed and produced over 20 films, including the critically acclaimed Enemies of Laughter (2000). In 2005, Joey produced the documentary Normal People Scare M e while mentoring a fifteen-year-old boy with autism who directed the film. Inspired by that experience, Joey developed the curriculum for Inclusion Films, a program that has served hundreds of aspiring filmmakers. Before he made it on the big screen, Joey worked as a special education teacher in New Jersey. During one hot summer, eight privileged but bored suburban teens begin to pull a series of harmless pranks which quickly escalate into increasingly depraved games. Their descent from innocence to ruthless predators involve arson, prostitution, pornography, assault and blackmail. Drenched in bared flesh and naked nihilism the film is reminiscent of the films of Harmony Korine, Larry Clark and Lars von Trier. The DVD and Blu-ray are presented in the original, unedited version.
