PREMIERING - NETFLIX - JULY 4! Morgan Spurlock presents VEGAS BABY, new documentary directed by Academy Award nominated Amanda Micheli, exploring the gamble of IVF

Directed by Oscar® nominated filmmaker Amanda Micheli and executive produced by Oscar® nominated Morgan Spurlock, VEGAS BABY pulls back the curtain on the world of reproductive medicine through a provocative, “truth is stranger than fiction” premise. The film follows aspiring parents from all walks of life who place themselves in the hands of a Las Vegas doctor and his annual contest, which offers the prize of a free round of IVF  – with no guarantee of success. Contestants post video entries online telling their stories, counting on the votes of strangers to help them realize their dream of becoming parents.

We invite your review or feature of this emotional, candid  exploration of the struggles of infertility.  FilmRise launched VEGAS BABY on Mother’s Day for purchase/rent on all major digital platforms including iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and Vudu.  It begins on NETFLIX on Tuesday July 4.

No contemporary filmmaker has chronicled the messy human experience with the eye and ear of a comedic cultural anthropologist like JUDD APATOW. Hits as varied as those he’s directed, like Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and those he’s produced, like Superbad and Bridesmaids, are all unified by their honest, unflinching, comic look at how complicated it is to grow up in the modern world. Apatow has also built a history of helping break distinctive new comedy voices into the mainstream, from Seth Rogen to Lena Dunham, among many others. Now, in his fifth feature film as a director, Apatow again brings a portrait of an unforgettable character, and a portrayal by a breakout new comedy star, together in a film written by and starring AMY SCHUMER (TV’s Inside Amy Schumer) as a woman who lives her life without apologies, even when maybe she should apologize.
