Punk by the Pacific: San Pedro Gears Up for Punk In The Park 2025

Punk In The Park, North America's premier outdoor punk rock and craft beer festival, returns to Southern California for a two-day spectacle on Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, October 5, 2025. Held at picturesque Berth 46 in the Port of Los Angeles, San Pedro, the festival will showcase more than 40 bands across three stages, alongside a vibrant Craft Beer Festival, Punk Rock Swap Meet, and Vinyl Village.

Saturday’s headliners—Bad Religion and Pennywise—set the tone for a high-energy kickoff. Bad Religion delivers razor-sharp lyrical insight and melodic hardcore salvos, while Pennywise ignites the crowd with explosive, anthem-fueled punk intensity. Sunday brings another powerhouse lineup with Descendents, the pop-punk pioneers whose catchy tunes have defined a genre, and The Interrupters, injecting a ska-infused punch into the weekend finale.

Bad Religion’s presence at the festival is a thrilling highlight for any punk fanatic. With over four decades of pioneering influence since forming in Los Angeles in 1980, they’ve become synonymous with intelligent, socially aware lyrics and polished melodic hardcore. Their live performances are legendary—fans describe them as “cathartic, chaotic and inspiring,” where getting lost in the pit feels like a spiritual experience. Others note how their shows span their extensive catalog with energy and precision, thanks to career-spanning setlists and tight musicianship. Whether it’s classic anthems like “American Jesus” or newer anthems, Bad Religion shows unite generations, delivering high-octane sound with thoughtful depth. In short, they’re not just a headliner—they’re the beating heart of California punk and a testament to its enduring spirit.

Pennywise brings a raw jolt of energy to the lineup—hailing from Hermosa Beach since 1988, they practically invented the fast-paced, skate-punk sound that defined West Coast punk in the ’90s. Their live shows are the stuff of legends: fans describe the pits as “brutal” and “packed with raw energy,” with every performance turning into a cathartic explosion of crowd surfing and frantic choruses. Their signature track “Bro Hymn” transforms into an electrifying sing-along that unites generations, while throwback performances from albums like Straight Ahead and Full Circle deliver tightly charged, adrenaline-fueled sets. With their formula of thrashing riffs, high-octane drumming, and lyrics about defiance and resilience, Pennywise brings both nostalgic punch and relentless power—making them a must-see powerhouse at any punk gathering.

Descendents bring a unique blend of nostalgia and energy to the Punk In The Park lineup. As pioneers of pop-punk since their late-’70s beginnings in Southern California, they've influenced legions of bands that followed. Their live performances are consistently praised for their high energy and tight musicianship. Fans often describe their shows as "amazing" and "kickass," with many noting the band's ability to sound just like their studio recordings live. The crowd at their concerts is often described as friendly and enthusiastic, with a mix of ages coming together to enjoy the music. Whether it's their rapid-fire delivery of songs like "Hope" and "Silly Girl" or the heartfelt encore of "Good Good Things," Descendents offer a thrilling, inclusive experience that bridges generations—perfect for closing out a weekend packed with punk passion.

Supporting acts read like a punk aficionado’s dream: Face To Face and Screeching Weasel offer infectious melodies; The Adicts and Stiff Little Fingers bring vibrant theatrical and politically charged flair; Street Dogs, Comeback Kid, and The Casualties provide gritty street and hardcore vibes. Meanwhile, The Bronx, Michael McColgan & The Bomb Squad, T.S.O.L., Adolescents, Agent Orange, and Manic Hispanic ensure deep representation across punk’s varied subcultures.

The excitement grows with a lineup that includes Dead To Me, Teenage Bottlerocket, Authority Zero, The Bombpops, Dwarves, The Queers, The Briggs, Ignite, and Death By Stereo. Newer voices like Niis, Slaughterhouse, The Drowns, Left Alone, Chaser, Crazy & The Brains, Love Canal, DFL, Grito, Toxic Energy, and Terror Attack inject fresh energy into the mix.

More than just music, Punk In The Park elevates the experience with extras like a $15 daily Craft Beer Tasting Pass for those 21 and over, offering unlimited samples from noon to 3 PM. The Punk Rock Swap Meet invites fans to buy, sell, or trade band merch and memorabilia, while the Vinyl Village offers a treasure trove of records and collector finds.

Two ticket tiers cater to different festival styles. General Admission weekend passes start at $149.99 (plus fees) and include full festival access, with optional tasting pass add-on. For an elevated experience, VIP passes—starting at $279.99—come with perks such as commemorative laminates, expedited entry lanes, prime main stage viewing, exclusive lounge access, and dedicated food and beverage bars. Note: all fans under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian, and only those 21+ may sample beers.

Set against the scenic waterfront backdrop at Berth 46 (3011 Miner St, San Pedro, CA 90731), the festival doors open at noon each day. Ocean views and salty air enhance the concert atmosphere, delivering a uniquely immersive two-day punk experience.

Punk In The Park Los Angeles 2025 brings together punk legends and emerging voices in a vibrant celebration of the genre’s past and present. Explaining the Ending of MULHOLLAND DRIVE

David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive remains one of the most haunting and enigmatic films ever made. It operates like a riddle that refuses to be solved, luring the viewer into a world where time, memory, and identity dissolve into one another. What begins as a mysterious, almost whimsical Hollywood fairy tale gradually transforms into a psychological nightmare. By the end, it’s clear that what we’ve been watching is not a mystery to be unraveled but an emotional landscape, the mind of a woman caught between fantasy and despair. The film tells the story of two women, Betty Elms and Rita, whose lives intertwine after Rita survives a car crash and loses her memory. Betty, a bright and optimistic aspiring actress freshly arrived in Los Angeles, takes her in. Together, they embark on an investigation into Rita’s identity, which unfolds like a noir detective story bathed in dreamlike light. Everything about this world feels heightened: Betty’s charm, the coincidence of events, and the ease with w...

Explaining the Ending of No Country for Old Men

No Country for Old Men is a tense, spare, and philosophical thriller that upends traditional narrative expectations. While it contains the elements of a crime drama—drug deals, hitmen, shootouts—it refuses to follow a conventional path. By the time the film ends, the central conflict seems unresolved, the villain walks away, and the protagonist we’ve been following disappears offscreen. To understand the film’s ending, one must look beyond plot and consider its themes: fate, violence, moral decay, and the erosion of order in the modern world. The Narrative Setup The story begins with Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin), a Vietnam veteran who discovers a drug deal gone wrong in the Texas desert and makes off with $2 million in cash. Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem), a remorseless hitman, is sent to retrieve the money. Sheriff Ed Tom Bell (Tommy Lee Jones), a weary and introspective lawman, tries to make sense of the violence unfolding around him. At first glance, the film appears to set up a c...
