NEON Acquires Once Upon a Time in Harlem, a Restored Documentary by William and David Greaves

NEON, the award-winning independent studio behind a wide range of acclaimed nonfiction and narrative films, has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Once Upon a Time in Harlem, a documentary conceived and filmed in 1972 by filmmaker William Greaves and restored and directed by his son, David Greaves. The film premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, where it drew significant attention from critics and industry figures. NEON is planning a theatrical release later this year. Once Upon a Time in Harlem centers on a four-hour gathering organized by William Greaves in 1972, bringing together artists and intellectuals associated with the Harlem Renaissance, many of whom had not seen one another in decades. NEON Announces Home Release of Directorial Debut Hell of a Summer by Billy Bryk and Finn Wolfhard

Award-winning film studio NEON has officially announced the digital release of Hell of a Summer, the highly anticipated directorial debut from Billy Bryk and Finn Wolfhard, best known for his breakout role in Stranger Things. The film will be available for digital purchase and rental starting April 22, with a Blu-ray and DVD release following on July 8. Hell of a Summer marks a bold entry into the horror-comedy genre, combining the nostalgic slasher thrills of Friday the 13th with the absurdist humor of Wet Hot American Summer.
