Following Films Podcast: Uwe Boll on Returning to Filmmaking

Thank you for listening to the following films podcast. Today I’m joined by legendary director Uwe Boll. I had Boll on the show to discuss his  return to filmmaking after a self-imposed early retirement. We also discuss what a pain in the ass it is to shoot car scenes, the pleasures of shooting in NYC, and I look for some recommendations on where to find some authentic German cuisine.  Big thanks to Bookmans for sponsoring this episode and to Fort Worth for letting us use their song at the end.

Uwe Boll Announces Return to Feature Films After 5 Year Absence

Uwe Boll, the often controversial and divisive filmmaker plans to return after a 5 year hiatus. His latest project FIRST SHIFT is a crime drama that follows a NYC police officer and his rookie partner Angela over the course of a 12-hour shift. Gino Anthony Pesi (Shades of Blue, Ambitions) and Kristen Renton (Sons of Anarchy, Days of Our Lives) have been cast in the central roles. Additional cast includes Onye Eme-Akwari (Outer Banks), Willie C. Carpenter (Men in Black), Garry Pastore (THE IRISHMAN), and Cate Bottiglione (Law & Order: Organized Crime). FIRST SHIFT is currently in pre-production, with filming beginning this Spring in New York.  FIRST SHIFT aims to be a gripping tale that captures the essence of life as a cop in one of America's busiest cities. Examining everything from the mundane to the dangerous, Boll hopes viewers will experience an intense day in the life of law enforcement officers. This is an interesting concept that plays to Bolls strengths as a filmmake
