LILITH A Horror Anthology Hits VOD July 30th

LILITH is a horror anthology, which follows the Demon Lilith, who punishes men for their indiscretions against women. A figure in Jewish mythology, developed earliest in the Babylonian Talmud between the 3rd and 5th centuries, Lilith is a dangerous demon of the night seeking her revenge. As she follows 4 men who have sinned against women, a detective is trying to stop her before she executes each victim and claims their souls.  Director Alex T. Hwang says, “A movie should move an audience emotionally in a certain way; make them laugh, cry, and think, but in a horror movie, the audience should be scared and loath the evil characters they see on a screen. Steven Spielberg did that with Jaws, John Carpenter with The Thing and Halloween and Alfred Hitchcock with Psycho. These movies are not only horrifying but make you emotionally charged when you are done watching them. And you can’t help rewatching. I wanted to make a film that’s scary yet also makes an audience think. Is Lili...

Following Films Podcast: Harry Greenberger on HERE AFTER

Today my guest is Harry Greenberger, the director and writer behind HERE AFTER. The film is a dark fantasy-comedy about searching for love in the afterlife and acts as something of a Rorschach test. Depending on how you feel about love, death, and existential dread will greatly impact how you react to this film. It would be easy to see the film as a simple rom-com but I genuinely feel that film has far more on its mind. I highly recommend you check it out this Friday 7/23 when it will be available on VOD. NETFLIX'S COCAINE COWBOYS - August 4

Fifteen years after the release of his cult classic film comes director Billy Corben’s Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami, a six-part saga on the South Florida traffickers indicted in one of the largest drug cases in U.S. history. Alleged to be the chief U.S. distributors for two of Colombia’s biggest cartels, Cuban exiles Augusto “Willy” Falcon and Salvador “Sal” Magluta were accused of smuggling over 75 tons of cocaine into the U.S. in the 1980s. The high school friends built a reputed $2 billion empire that made Willy and Sal, aka “Los Muchachos,” two of Miami’s biggest celebrities. While law enforcement plotted their takedown, the world champion powerboat racers managed to skillfully outrun and outmaneuver prosecution for decades before the chase finally came to an end. Featuring colorful interviews with those closest to them, their defense team, and the Feds tasked with taking them down, the series paints a vivid portrait of the last of Miami’s “cocaine cowboys.”    For...

FOR MADMEN ONLY: Trailer Featuring - Patton Oswalt, Jason Sudeikis, Lauren Lapkus, Bob Odenkirk, Tim Meadows, Jason Mantzoukas, Adam McKay, Paul Scheer & more

Comedy guru Del Close, mentor to everyone from Bill Murray to Tina Fey, sets out to write his autobiography for DC Comics. As he leads us through sewers, mental wards, and his peculiar talent for making everyone famous but himself, Close emerges as a personification of the creative impulse itself. He's a muse with BO and dirty needles, offering transcendence despite (or because of) the trail of wreckage behind him. In this at once hilarious and poignant look at the life of the godfather of improv comedy, Del Close, Festival alum Heather Ross (Girls on The Wall)  tracks the trailblazer from “human torch” sideshow act to his influential and contentious rise at The Second City, mentoring such greats as Bill Murray, John Candy, and Tina Fey, among many others. Inspired by his semi-autobiographical DC Comics anthology Wasteland, the film delves into the inner workings of Close’s wacky mind through inspired reenactments, archival clips, and interviews with such devotees as Bob Odenkirk, ...
