SOBER CINEMA: Five Years Later - SAFE HAVEN and LIKE SOMEONE IN LOVE

We hit the road with two women on the run from abusive relationships and provide some abuse of our own to two films that opened on Valentine's Day 2013: SAFE HAVEN and LIKE SOMEONE IN LOVE. Perhaps misreading these two movies but enjoying them nevertheless we examine just why a pie recipe is a smoking gun to a police detective, and if you are a retired professor providing sanctuary to a high end escort... STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. All of this and not much more can be found in this episode and at the links below: Listen:  iTunes / Podbean Facebook / Instagram / Twitter : @sobercinema

99 FROM 99: Analyze This and The Sopranos

Just when we think we are out, the mob entertainment of 1999 pulls us back in for the Robert De Niro/Billy Crystal comedy ANALYZE THIS and James Gandolfini in the start of TV's modern Golden Age THE SOPRANOS. The latter caused one host to pass on the former Harold Ramis film until the recording for this podcast, while the other host took a pass on David Chase's landmark series until much later. How do both of these mob hits hold up now? Find out in our latest episode and at the links below: Listen  iTunes / Podbean Facebook / Instagram / Twitter : @99from99

ORIGINAL REMAKE: Perfect Blue and Black Swan

Inspired by the release of R E D S P A R R O W , we decide to review another movie involving a bird of color, Darren Aronofsky's B L A C K S W A N which was inspired by Satoshi Kon's P E R F E C T B L U E . Despite being one of our shorter episodes, we still manage to bring up ballet, overbearing mother's that can bake and hentai. PROJECTING FILM: The Party (Rebecca meets Rope)

On this episode we throw a Hitchcock themed podcast party for Sally Potter's new film THE PARTY. This Kristen Scott Thomas and Patricia Clarkson starring movie is fast, aggressive, and darkly funny; which means that this cast of characters would fit in nicely at a dinner party to celebrate getting away with murder in the 1948 classic ROPE. Or maybe the focus would be on the missing guest such as in the other Alfred Hitchcock joint REBECCA? We'll let you decide as you can listen to the episode and give us feedback at the links below: Facebook / Twitter / Instagram : @projectingfilm Hosts: Chris  @Following_Films  Mike  @warmachinehorse Email us suggestions on indie films you are looking forward to at projectingfilm@gmail.com Theme music provided by the band  Good Talk Russ . The song is Build It Up off their album The Panglossian Travels of the White Elephant.

SOBER CINEMA: Twenty Five Years Later - GROUNDHOG DAY and BRAINDEAD

On February 12, 1993 the world was introduced to the curse of two rodents at movie theaters in Harold Ramis' GROUNDHOG DAY and Peter Jackson's BRAINDEAD (or DEAD ALIVE in the States). We decide which of these curses are harder to stomach: eating the disgusting custard in the low budget horror film or falling in love with the incorrigible Bill Murray in the classic comedy. Come be disgusted by us in this episode and at the links below: Listen:  iTunes / Podbean Facebook / Instagram / Twitter : @sobercinema

THE True Bromance Film Podcast - Annihilation

99 FROM 99: 8MM

We have a bit more fun revisiting films for this podcast than the character played by Nicolas Cage in 8MM. This Joel Schumacher directed movie from late February 1999 follows a private investigator as he is tasked with determining the authenticity of a "snuff film." In this episode we determine the authenticity of this critical misfire and determine if the complaints of screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker would have possibly changed the response. And with almost twenty years since its release, maybe our response has. Find out in our latest episode of   99 from 99 ! Listen  iTunes / Podbean Facebook / Instagram / Twitter : @99from99
