NO ALTERNATIVE review

Depression is often marked by sadness, despair, and hopelessness. The sense that things will not get better is something most of us pass through at different points in our lives. But depression is something more than that. It’s not just a temporary feeling, it’s a debilitating emotional state that you can’t simply pull yourself out of. The angry outbursts, irritability, and frustration that come along with depression can isolate individuals suffering from this condition and push them deeper into their own thoughts. Everyone needs to be heard and sometimes those who can’t express themselves in traditional forms find their voice in art. Edvard Munch wrestled with agoraphobia and frequently had hallucinations, one of which inspired THE SCREAM, a painting so iconic that even the most casual art enthusiast is familiar with the piece.  Sylvia Plath took a more direct approach with THE BELL JAR and laid out the details of her depression with brutal honesty. Internet Trolls and Critics in the Age of Rotten Tomatoes - A Look at the Critical Response to GOTTI

Hate, intolerance, and cruelty are the most valued currencies in the digital age. Online publications deal in the same eye-catching tabloid headlines that were once exclusive to rags like WEEKLY WORLD NEWS and the NATIONAL ENQUIRER. The monetization of clicks is ruining many forms of journalism and film criticism is just one of them. When organizations can see what headlines are generating revenue its only natural that sensationalism would start to rise. There is no consorted hivemind like conspiracy to destroy certain films but rather internet activity that has boosted a certain type of writer. From the outside, online film critics share quite a bit with their Twitter troll counterparts. The critical response to John Travolta's passion project Gotti has been less than favorable, in fact, it has been downright abysmal. A project over ten years in the making, Travolta has poured his heart and soul into this venture. And many writers seem to take pleasure in the film's fail

SCOTTY AND THE SECRET HISTORY OF HOLLYWOOD Trailer and Release Information

Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood is the deliciously scandalous story of ScottyBowers, a handsome ex-Marine who landed in Hollywood after World War II and became confidante, aide de camp and lover to many of Hollywood’s greatest male — and female — stars. In the 1940s and '50s, Scotty ran a gas station in the shadow of the studio lots where he would connect his friends with actors and actresses who had to hide their true sexual identities for fear of police raids at gay bars, societal shunning and career suicide. An unsung Hollywood legend, Bowers would cater to the sexual appetites of celebrities – straight and gay – for decades. In 2012, he finally spilled his secrets in the New York Times bestselling memoir “Full Service,” which revealed a dramatic, pre-Stonewall alternate history of Hollywood. While the studio PR machines were promoting their stars as wholesome and monogamous, Bowers was fulfilling the true desires of many of them. This cinema-vΓ©ritΓ© documentary

Statement Rebuts Deadline Hollywood story regarding Relativity Media and Adam Fields

In response to a June 4, 2018 story in entertainment industry trade publication Deadline ( HERE ) regarding Relativity Media and its former Co-President Adam Fields, a spokesperson for Ryan Kavanaugh and Relativity issued this statement: "Deadline editor Anita Busch has been and remains one of Adam Fields’ very close friends. This story shows both parties’ attempts to skew findings that are subject to a Confidential Arbitration. Ryan Kavanaugh was personally exonerated in this matter, despite Field’s year-long attempt to disparage him. Without breaching the confidentiality of the Arbitration, we cannot respond beyond this statement except to state the story is inaccurate and editorially unsound owing to Busch’s friendship with Mr. Fields. "Relativity would have appealed the result of this Arbitration had Mr. Fields won anything of value; rather, he won a single count of breach of contract. Contrary to Deadline's statement that Fields won a judgement of $8 million
