Interview w/ Roger Bart GHOST LIGHT LAFF 2018

Roger Bart is an actor, known for The Producers, American Gangster, and Desperate Housewives. Today I had him on the show to talk about his work on the film GHOST LIGHT. The film is a dark comedy about a disgruntled summer-stock actor who contemptuously disregards the superstition surrounding Shakespeare's tragedy, Macbeth. By doing so he unleashes the curse of The Scottish Play and wreaks havoc on the company. To hear my interview with Roger click play on the embedded player below.

Interview with N.O.N. Director Zebulon Zang VIFF 2018

Heartbroken and flat broke, Greg struggles to reenter the workforce and suffers a series of seriocomic indignities, including sitting through a motivational speaking session in a gymnasium and single-handedly crewing an experimental film. As Greg's excursions take him through Vancouver's suburbs, office spaces, woodlands, bookshops, basement suites and galleries, his existential dread steeps. In turn, director/multi-disciplinary artist Zebulon Zang reveals himself to be a keen observer of human nature (and accompanying ludicrous behavior) who is capable of mining rich absurdity from the seemingly mundane. Today I had Zebulon on the show to discuss the process of bringing his unique vision to the screen. N.O.N. will be screening at the Vancouver International Film Festival on September 30th and October 7th. For more information and to purchase tickets click HERE . Super Deluxe’s The Passage Wins at Fantastic Fest

It is the fifth festival win for the modern-day silent comedy. The Passage has previously won the Grand Jury Prize at the Nashville Film Festival, Best Late-Night at SeriesFest, Best Director for Comedy at the New York Television Festival, and Best Comedy at Aspen Shortsfest, making it an Oscar-qualifying live action short film. The Passage follows Phil, a sweetly mysterious and childlike wanderer, as he adventures across a surreal multicultural landscape in order to escape the clutches of two bumbling pursuers – all without uttering a single word. Through a comedic lens, The Passage deals with resonant themes of immigration, the longing for human connection, and the tragedy of never being able to find peace. “Philip Burgers is one of a kind. He’s a true artist whose physical comedy not only reminds us of brilliant performers from another era, but also conveys genuine emotion. Making projects like this is what Super Deluxe was founded to do,” says Wolfgang Hammer, president

THE CLOVEHITCH KILLER - LAFF 2018 Review

2018 Directed by : Duncan Skiles Starring : Charlie Plummer, Dylan McDermott, Samantha Mathis, Madisen Beaty It can be painfully difficult to recognize the faults of our parents. They love, support, and provide for you. They are the center of our worlds for a large portion of our adolescence. Many of us are unable to fully appreciate how screwed up our childhoods were until we enter adulthood. For Tyler, (Carlie Plummer) that possibility becomes apparent far sooner. Tyler is about as all American as they come. A level-headed young man raised in a small working-class community. He's a Boy Scout and attends church every Sunday. When he accidentally uncovers his fathers (Dylan McDermott) cache of sadistic pornography he becomes suspicious that he could be the son of Clovehitch, a local serial killer who was never apprehended. Director Duncan Skiles never takes the expected route with any of the somewhat familiar ground he covers in THE CLOVEHITCH KILLER. Kassi (Madisen Be
