Will Ferrell to Play Soft Core porn master Russ Meyer

Deadline is reporting that Will Ferrell is in talks to play Russ Meyer in a new film about Meyes collaboration with Roger Ebert on Beyond the valley of the Dolls and Edgar Wright is "intrigued" by the project.

I'm sorry but I think my brain just melted. Projects like this are rarely equal to the sum of their parts but its hard (that's what she said) not to get excited (that's what she said) about the prospects of this one. The idea of Ferrell and Wright teaming up in more than enough to peak my interest but when you add Ebert and Meyer into the mix? I'm in. Sight unseen. I don't need a trailer. I don't need a poster. I'm in. Who knows if this will ever come together (that's what she said) but the prospect of what could be is fun to imagine.
