Following Films Podcast: Kevin Corrigan on SCENES FROM AN EMPTY CHURCH

Today I’m joined by legendary character actor Kevin Corrigan to discuss his latest film SCENES FROM AN EMPTY CHURCH. You might know Kevin from his work in GOODFELLAS, TRUE ROMANCE, THE DEPARTED, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, and the woefully underrated RESULTS.

SCENES FROM AN EMPTY CHURCH takes place in NYC at the height of the pandemic and focuses on two priests who open their church doors to those seeking salvation during the most isolating of times. From the commonplace to the truly metaphysical, their visitors reflect the full spectrum of personal crises of spirituality. Throughout their encounters with the city's sweetest, wildest and weirdest, the two priests learn the importance of connection, empathy, and open-mindedness.

While the film takes place in the pandemic, it's not ABOUT the pandemic. It's about asking questions and listening, it's about the importance of fellowship in difficult times. The characters in the film wrestle with universal questions that we have been asking since our earliest days. In that way, I feel like SCENES FROM AN EMPTY CHURCH will be the kind of film that audiences will discover for years to come.

SCENES FROM AN EMPTY CHURCH will be in theatres and VOD on Friday July 2nd.

Big thanks to Bookmans for sponsoring the show. And thanks to Fort Worth for letting me use the song at the end.

2023 Director : Jackson Publick Starring : Doc Hammer, James Urbaniak, Michael Sinterniklaas, Chris McCulloch, Clancy Brown, and JK Simmons  The Venture Bros.: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart is an absolute triumph that brilliantly continues the story of the beloved animated series. As a long-time fan, I couldn't be more thrilled with this new movie, which picks up right where season 7 finale left off. Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has delivered a truly special piece of animation that had me from start to finish. While the plot for the film is about what you'd expect from a direct to home video feature based on an animated series, there is something in the way all the pieces come together that is utterly compelling, making it impossible to look away. The story is well-crafted and the return of an imposing evil from the past adds a layer of depth and intensity that fans will appreciate. The voice talents in The Venture Bros. have always been top-notch, and R
