Anchor Bay Entertainment Acquires "Cursed in Baja," a Horror Film Written, Directed, and Starring Jeff Daniel Phillips

Horror fans rejoice! The recently revived Anchor Bay Entertainment has secured the worldwide rights to "Cursed in Baja," a chilling new film from Jeff Daniel Phillips.  This intense genre-bender is slated for its world premiere at this year's FrightFest on August 23rd, 2024.

Phillips, best known for his frequent collaborations with horror maestro Rob Zombie (including the recent "Munsters" reboot), steps into the director's chair for "Cursed in Baja."  He also takes on the lead role and co-produced the screenplay.  Joining Phillips on screen are genre veterans Barbara Crampton ("You're Next") and Jose Conejo Martin ("The Tax Collector").

The film follows Pirelli, a jaded ex-lawman venturing into the wilds of Baja, Mexico.  His mission: to locate the missing heir to a vast Los Angeles fortune.  However, this seemingly straightforward task takes a terrifying turn as Pirelli is forced to confront not only the dangers of the environment but also the demons of his own past.

Anchor Bay Entertainment, a name synonymous with cult classic horror films, has found its latest gem in "Cursed in Baja."  Thomas Zambeck, co-founder of the revitalized company, expresses his enthusiasm: "We're thrilled to bring Jeff and his vision into the Anchor Bay family.  'Cursed in Baja' promises to be an intense journey, a worthy addition to the legacy of genre-defining independent horror."

With its intriguing premise, a talented cast and crew, and the backing of a legendary horror distributor, "Cursed in Baja" is poised to be a must-see for horror enthusiasts.  Mark your calendars for its premiere at FrightFest and prepare to be taken on a terrifying trip south of the border.

MULHOLLAND DRIVE Ending Explained

MULHOLLAND DRIVE is a complex and surreal film directed by David Lynch, known for its non-linear narrative and dreamlike sequences. The ending is open to interpretation and has been the subject of much debate among viewers. However, as the film progresses, it becomes clear that Betty's story is unraveling, and her identity begins to merge with Diane's. This culminates in the revelation that Betty is merely a construct of Di...

Shot entirely from the first-person point of view of a spirit, the film immerses the viewer into the consciousness of an unseen entity navigating a family’s domestic unraveling. It’s not only a technical experiment, but a story with emotional weight, subtle revelations, and a chilling undercurrent of tragedy. Premiering at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and released by Neon in early 2025, Presence has become a sleeper hit, earning $10.5 million on a modest $2 million budget. Directed, shot, and edited by Soderbergh, with a script from veteran screenwriter David Koepp, the film offers an experience that is simultaneously eerie, emotionally nuanced, and structurally inventive. From the very first frame, Presence makes its unique perspective clear. The camera doesn’t merely observ...
