First Look: Torfoot Entertainment Group Mounts Classic Horror The Yeti starring Jim Cummings (THUNDER ROAD, LAST STOP IN YUMA COUNTY) with New Slate of Films

Torfoot Entertainment Group (TEG), a fast-rising player in the film, television, and digital content landscape, has officially unveiled its ambitious upcoming slate, headlined by the monster movie The Yeti. The newly-announced project marks a significant foray into the realm of creature features, putting TEG in direct competition with major Hollywood studios known for giant monster franchises like Godzilla and Kong.

Founded by Canadian filmmaker Johnathan Brownlee, known for Three Days in August, Puppetmaster, and The Standoff at Sparrow Creek, along with Emmy Award-winning producer and casting director Ross Meyerson (Damages, Nurse Jackie, Dexter: Resurrection), TEG’s footprint spans major production hubs like Los Angeles, New York City, Dallas, and Toronto. The company is now stepping into the spotlight with its bold, diverse slate, spearheaded by The Yeti, which promises to breathe new life into the classic monster movie genre.

The Yeti, starring Jim Cummings (Thunder Road, Last Stop in Yuma County), will be shopped at the American Film Market (AFM) this fall by Radiant Films. The film stands out as a daring move in an era where large-scale monster movies are typically backed by major studios. Not since the original Japanese pioneers over 50 years ago has an independent production house ventured into this territory without substantial studio backing.

Concept art for The Yeti was revealed along with the announcement, teasing a dramatic, larger-than-life visual approach. The film's animatic—a meticulously scored and composed animated storyboard—offers an exclusive early look at the thrilling tone and scope of the project.

This is just the beginning of TEG's upcoming releases. The entertainment company, with deep roots in both traditional and digital media, is positioning itself as a disruptor in the industry, with Brownlee and Meyerson promising an eclectic mix of films that span genres and challenge conventional norms.

With The Yeti charging forward and a string of other films soon to follow, TEG is poised to make waves in both the indie and mainstream film spaces. Keep an eye on this production house as they continue to break new ground in 2024 and beyond.

MULHOLLAND DRIVE Ending Explained

MULHOLLAND DRIVE is a complex and surreal film directed by David Lynch, known for its non-linear narrative and dreamlike sequences. The ending is open to interpretation and has been the subject of much debate among viewers. Here's a breakdown of the ending: Diane's Dream vs. Reality: Throughout the film, there are two main narrative threads: one follows Betty/Diane's dreamlike experiences in Hollywood, and the other delves into Diane's harsh reality. The ending reveals that the majority of the film has been a dream constructed by Diane Selwyn, a failed actress, as a means to escape the guilt and pain of her actions. Betty/Diane's Descent into Madness: Betty, played by Naomi Watts, represents Diane's idealized self—a hopeful and innocent aspiring actress. However, as the film progresses, it becomes clear that Betty's story is unraveling, and her identity begins to merge with Diane's. This culminates in the revelation that Betty is merely a construct of Di...

4K Blu-ray Review: Drop (2025) — A Tense, Tech-Driven Thriller That Mostly Sticks the Landing

In Drop, director Christopher Landon (Freaky, Happy Death Day) crafts a nerve-wracking thriller centered on a devastating dilemma: would you take a life to save the ones you love? The story follows Violet, a widowed single mom attempting to re-enter the dating world after years of grief and recovery. Played with emotional precision by Meghann Fahy, Violet finds herself on a promising first date with the affable and seemingly genuine Henry (Brandon Sklenar) in an elegant, glass-walled Chicago restaurant. But their evening takes a sinister turn when Violet receives a disturbing message via a sleek, anonymous app called DigiDrop: if she doesn’t kill her date before the check arrives, her son and sister will die. What unfolds is a tightly wound 95-minute thriller that feels both classic and timely. The film builds its suspense through confinement, not action. Most of the story unfolds in real-time at their dinner table, creating a pressure-cooker environment that reflects Violet’s psycholo...
