Spielberg Classics Minority Report and Catch Me If You Can Arrive on 4K Ultra HD This December

Two of Steven Spielberg’s most celebrated early-2000s films are making their long-awaited debut in 4K Ultra HD this holiday season. Alliance Home Entertainment has announced that Minority Report and Catch Me If You Can will be released on December 9 in both standard 4K Ultra HD editions and collectible Limited-Edition SteelBooks, marking the first time either film has been available in the format in the U.S. and Canada.

Both titles have undergone new 4K remasters in 2023, with Spielberg personally reviewing and approving the transfers. Each release will feature Dolby Vision and HDR-10, ensuring richer colors, sharper detail, and a more cinematic experience at home. Fans will also receive a Blu-ray disc with legacy bonus features and a digital copy of the film.

Minority Report: A Vision of the Future

Released in 2002, Minority Report quickly became a touchstone of modern science fiction cinema. Adapted from a story by Philip K. Dick, the film imagines a dystopian future where crimes can be predicted—and prevented—before they happen. Tom Cruise stars as John Anderton, a top Precrime detective who suddenly finds himself accused of a murder he hasn’t committed—yet.

The film blends relentless action with a cerebral exploration of free will, technology, and surveillance, and co-stars Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton, and Max von Sydow. Praised for its world-building and visual flair, it remains one of Spielberg’s most thought-provoking thrillers.

The new release will be packed with archival special features, including behind-the-scenes documentaries (The Future According to Steven Spielberg, Inside the World of Precrime), featurettes on production design, stunts, and visual effects, plus storyboards, previs sequences, and trailers.

Catch Me If You Can: The Art of the Con

Also premiering in 2002, Catch Me If You Can showcased Spielberg’s lighter side. Based on the incredible true story of con artist Frank Abagnale, Jr., the film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as the charming swindler and Tom Hanks as the FBI agent determined to catch him. The ensemble cast includes Christopher Walken in an Oscar-nominated performance, along with Martin Sheen, Amy Adams, James Brolin, Jennifer Garner, and Elizabeth Banks.

With its breezy pacing, jazzy John Williams score, and mix of humor and heart, Catch Me If You Can was both a critical and commercial success, earning a 96% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The 4K edition will include legacy extras such as Behind the Camera, The Casting of the Film, Frank Abagnale: Between Reality and Fiction, and The FBI Perspective, offering fans deeper insights into both the filmmaking process and the real-life story that inspired it.

A Collector’s Holiday Treat

Physical media collectors and Spielberg fans alike will want to mark their calendars. Both Minority Report and Catch Me If You Can arrive December 9 in standard 4K Ultra HD editions and stylish SteelBook packaging. With their director-approved transfers, enhanced visuals, and extensive bonus features, these releases represent the definitive home-video editions of two early-21st-century classics.

Explaining the Ending of MULHOLLAND DRIVE

MULHOLLAND DRIVE is a complex and surreal film directed by David Lynch, known for its non-linear narrative and dreamlike sequences. The ending is open to interpretation and has been the subject of much debate among viewers. Here's a breakdown of the ending: Diane's Dream vs. Reality: Throughout the film, there are two main narrative threads: one follows Betty/Diane's dreamlike experiences in Hollywood, and the other delves into Diane's harsh reality. The ending reveals that the majority of the film has been a dream constructed by Diane Selwyn, a failed actress, as a means to escape the guilt and pain of her actions. Betty/Diane's Descent into Madness: Betty, played by Naomi Watts, represents Diane's idealized self—a hopeful and innocent aspiring actress. However, as the film progresses, it becomes clear that Betty's story is unraveling, and her identity begins to merge with Diane's. This culminates in the revelation that Betty is merely a construct of Di...

What starts as a simple break-in quickly spirals into a nightmare, as Eddie struggles to escape a vehicle designed to be his prison. With no way out and an unseen force pulling the strings, survival becomes a race against time in a ride where justice is anything but blind. This 95-minute thrill ride promises to keep audiences on edge by blending elements of survival horror and psychological warfare. Its confined setting turns an everyday luxury vehicle into an inescapable nightmare, and the ride explores themes of morality, punishment, and the true cost of justice. Only in Theaters on March 21. I love a limited-setting horror thriller. With limited settings, the film must rely more on character interactions and internal conflicts to create ten...
