Star Wars Episode 7 Plot Revealed

Warning the article below might contain spoilers. Very broad spoilers. I wouldn't call them spoilers but hey some of you people are nuts about this shit. It is way too soon to tell if any of what is below is factual but for now we should treat it as conjecture. The plot as its described is vague but really interesting and I for one would be happy if this is the direction the new films are heading.  Taken from  Bad Ass Digest I'm going to keep this vague. I have no interest in spoiling  Star Wars Episode VII , although I'm sure some people will find  any  information about the film's plot to be spoilery. If you're a spoilerphobe or want to go into  Star Wars Episode VII  totally, completely clean, stop reading now. If you want to know what, on a very basic and general level, is the premise of  Star Wars Episode VII , read on.  Ready? Imagine the standard  Star Wars  crawl, and when it ends the camera pans up to the stars. But instead of a spaceship zoomi

The Master

2012 Directed By Paul Thomas Anderson Starring Joaquin Phoenix Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams The Master is the latest from writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson, arguably the finest filmmaker working in American cinema. This is simply a wonderfully acted and crafted piece of film. With works like There Will be Blood, Boogie Nights, Magnolia and Punch Drunk Love PTA is a filmmaker who defies traditional convention and makes deeply personal films that are both intimate and grand in scale. This film also marks the return of Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead) as composer. Greenwood composed the score for PTAs 2007 film There Will be Blood  and he once again has created a beautifully complex piece of music that is as richly layered as the film it accompanies.  Joaquin Phoenix gives a performance that is both unsettling and tragic, he plays Freddie Quell a troubled man searching for identity and meaning, two things offered by Lancaster Dodd. Hoffman plays the title charac

Short Term 12

2013 Directed By Destin Daniel Cretton Starring Brie Larson John Gallagher Jr & Frantz Turner  I saw Short Term 12 last year but with it being recently added to Netflix instant I thought it would be a good time to revisit this wonderful little film. This is a very simple character driven story that speaks to the truths of being a young adult in an honest unflinching way that is sadly rare. Most films condescend to teenagers and handle their stories in a shallow manor that feels false.  Most of the film is set in a foster-care center for wayward teenagers and is based on the real life experience of Writer/Director Destin Danel Cretton. The film opens with an amusing story being told by Mason ( John Gallagher Jr) a veteran employee who is helping a new employee understand how unpredictable his new job will be.  Grace (Brie Larson) is a young counselor barely older than the children in her care. She is profoundly empathetic to the residents of the facility and does ev

The Shining prequel gets a director

The only thing that scares me more than a sequel is the prequel. Taken From  Yahoo By Justin Kroll Mark Romanek is in negotiations to helm Warner Bros.’ Overlook Hotel, a prequel to the Stanley Kubrick classic The Shining. Former Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara recently turned in his draft for the original story, with Mythology’s Brad Fischer, James Vanderbilt and Laeta Kalogridis producing. Based on Stephen King’s original prologue to The Shining, which was cut from the book prior to publication in 1977, the film will tell the origin story of the Overlook Hotel through the eyes of its first owner, Bob T. Watson. A robber baron at the turn of the 20th century, Watson scaled the remote peaks of the Colorado Rockies to build the grandest resort in America, and a place he and his family would also call home Starring Jack Nicholson, the original Shining revolved around a writer who takes his family to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil presence influences him to commit

The Congress

2013 Directed By Ari Folman Starring Robin Wright, Harvey Keitel and John Hamm 20 years after the release of The Princess Bride Robing Wright (played by Robin Wright) signs her final contract. She agrees to have her likeness scanned so the producers at Miramount can use her image in any way they see fit but Robin Wright the actress will no longer exist. Robin Right agrees to never act again. At 45 years old our protagonist is over the hill and all but dead in Hollywoood. In this alternate world she is a woman who has made bad career choices and is constantly reminded of her wasted potential.  This film is clearly a satire that pokes fun at Hollywood on the surface level but it really speaks to the way we treat women in our society and what we value as individuals. This is a film that works and plays on many levels simultaneously. It’s both a cautionary tale of where technology is taking us and a commentary on celebrity. When we value image and status over expression an
