The Horror Section has picked up another genre title, and this one comes with a story rooted in lived experience. The company announced today that it has acquired Stiletto, the latest horror feature from director Samuel Gonzalez Jr., known for The Plastic Men and The Retaliators. The film is currently in post-production.
Stiletto is based on a story by Gigi Gustin, who also stars in the film. An actress and exotic dancer, Gustin drew from her own time in the dancer community to shape the story from an insider perspective. She leads a cast that includes Charlotte McKinney, Colleen Camp, Meghan Carrasquillo, Stephen Blackehart, and Hannah Hueston.
Set on the first anniversary of her older sister’s brutal murder, the film follows Lyric, played by Gustin, as she searches for answers and attempts to protect fellow dancers from a masked killer targeting strip clubs. The story unfolds against a neon-lit backdrop, centering on Lyric’s fight for survival as the body count rises.
Eli Roth is producing the project alongside Gustin and Hearse Productions. The screenplay was written by Gonzalez Jr. and Gustin, expanding on Gustin’s original story. Executive producers include Jon Schnaars and Holly Adams for The Horror Section, and Christopher Woodrow and Raj Singh for Media Capital Technologies. International sales rights are being handled by Scatena and Rosner Films.
Roth shared his enthusiasm for the project, praising the filmmakers’ approach to the slasher subgenre and highlighting Gustin’s performance and Gonzalez Jr.’s direction. He also pointed to the film’s finale as a standout moment and expressed excitement about bringing it to theaters.
For Gustin, the road to getting Stiletto made was anything but simple. She described the process as intense and chaotic, driven by a deep belief in the story and a determination to see it through. Having Roth come on board, she said, felt surreal and transformative for the project. Gustin emphasized the personal investment she brought to the film, blending authenticity with the heightened energy of a slasher narrative.
Stiletto will mark the next release from The Horror Section following Ice Cream Man, Roth’s first film under the company’s banner. That project centers on a seemingly perfect summer town thrown into chaos when an ice cream man’s treats lead to terrifying consequences.
The Horror Section has been steadily building its slate. Its first acquisitions included Joe Begos’ Jimmy and Stiggs, which received a theatrical release in August 2025, and Dream Eater, the second feature from Jay Drakulic, Mallory Drumm, and Alex Lee Williams, which hit theaters in October 2025.
Founded by Roth in partnership with Media Capital Technologies, The Horror Section aims to build a dedicated genre brand with a growing library of films, television series, games, and podcasts, along with curated horror experiences for fans. With Stiletto now in the mix, the company continues to expand its footprint in the horror space.
